3Wire RS2MRC · Modbus Register Converter RS2MRC translates the replacement device’s Modbus registers into the structure already expected by your PLC, SCADA, DCS or BMS. The retrofit challenge A new meter or sensor may perform the same function as the obsolete unit, but different register addresses, function codes or scaling can force costly changes to the master system. How it works Key capabilities Map up to 150 registers from the replacement device to the addresses expected by the master. Convert between Modbus Function Codes 03H and 04H where required. Support Modbus write commands using Function Codes 06H and 10H. Apply addition, subtraction, multiplication or division to convert data values. Provide electrical isolation between master and slave RS-485 communication networks. DIN-rail or screw mounting with 12–30VDC supply and industrial operating range. Typical applications Replace obsolete power meters without changing PLC, SCADA or EMS mappings. Integrate new equipment where DCS configuration is locked or unsupported. Preserve existing BMS points, alarms and operating logic. Retain existing tags, screens and historian records during device replacement. Map replacement meter data to the addresses already configured in the master. Normalise Modbus structures before forwarding data to gateways or analytics platforms. Technical overview Final suitability depends on the existing and replacement register maps, function codes, data types, byte order and scaling requirements. Send us the existing and replacement device register maps. We will assess whether RS2MRC can eliminate PLC, SCADA, DCS or BMS modifications.Replace the Modbus Device.
Keep the Existing System.
The replacement device may be simple. Reprogramming the system is not.
