Hypomelanistic = reduced black pigment.
A Hypo Leopard Gecko has fewer than 10 black body spots (excluding the tail and head).
If it has no black spots at all, it’s called a Super Hypo.
Can appear yellow to tangerine-orange, with cleaner, brighter coloration than normal morphs.
Personality: Docile, calm, easy to handle — one of the most beginner-friendly reptiles
Handling: Tolerates regular gentle handling once acclimated
Behavior: Ground-dwelling, crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk), enjoys hiding and exploring at night
Enclosure: 20-gallon long tank minimum for one adult; bigger is better
Substrate: Paper towel, reptile carpet, tile, or packed soil mix (avoid loose sand for young geckos — risk of impaction)
