1. Is this a "Start" or a "Run" capacitor?

   • This is a Start Capacitor (CD60), designed to be in the circuit for only a few seconds to help the motor start. It should not be used as a replacement for a White Run Capacitor (CBB60), as it is not designed for continuous operation.

2. Does the polarity of the wires matter?

   • No. CD60 motor start capacitors are non-polarized for AC applications. You can connect the two black wires to your motor's start terminals in either orientation.

3. Why is my motor still not starting with a new capacitor?

   • If the motor still only hums with a new 150uF capacitor, check the centrifugal switch or the start relay. If those are functioning, the motor windings may be damaged or the mechanical load may be seized.
