Helium is the second lightest element after Hydrogen. It is one of the rare gases of the atmosphere. It is chemically inert, colorless, odorless and tasteless. Liquid Helium is the only known substance that could remain in liquid form at temperature near absolute zero. Hence it has a unique use as a refrigerant in cryogenics. Helium is generally obtained from natural gas fields.
