Tritace 5 /mg is indicated for:
Hypertension (high blood pressure) – alone or combined with other antihypertensive agents
Secondary prevention of cardiovascular events (heart attack, stroke) in patients with established atherothrombotic disease or diabetes with at least one cardiovascular risk factor
Renal protection – in patients with diabetic nephropathy or non diabetic proteinuric renal disease
Symptomatic heart failure – as adjunctive therapy alongside diuretics/digitalis
After myocardial infarction (post MI) – to reduce mortality in patients with clinical signs of heart failure, initiated > /48 hours post-event
Start at 1.25 /mg or 2.5 /mg once daily, especially in patients on diuretics, elderly, or with low blood volume.
Maintenance dose typically ranges from 2.5–5 mg daily, titrated up as needed; maximum 10 mg/day
Administration: taken at the same time each day, with or without food—food does not affect absorption. Swallow whole, do not chew or crush
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered—if it's nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double dose
Blood pressure, renal function, and serum electrolytes (especially potassium) should be monitored regularly, particularly during dose titration
