Indication
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)
Management of angina pectoris (chest pain due to reduced heart blood flow)
Control of cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms)
Adjunctive use in hyperthyroidism to control symptoms such as tachycardia
Dosage: Typically 100 /mg once daily, with dose range between 100–400 /mg/day, either as a single dose or divided into two daily doses, depending on condition and physician’s guidance
Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water; may be taken with or without food; take at a consistent time daily
Precautions: Do not discontinue abruptly; monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly. Use caution in asthma, heart failure, severe bradycardia, hypotension. Alcohol intake may exacerbate hypotension. Renal impairment generally does not require dose adjustment, but hepatic impairment may require caution
