Content (Composition)

• Active Ingredient: Clobetasol propionate 0.05% w/w, incorporated in a fatty ointment base (Univate Ointment)

• Indicated for severe inflammatory skin disorders that are responsive to corticosteroids, especially in cases where less potent agents have failed. These include eczema, psoriasis, discoid lupus erythematosus, lichen planus, alopecia areata, and similar dermatoses

• Route & Application:
  • For external use only, applied to clean, dry, and intact skin.
  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after application, unless treating the hands themselves. Massage gently into affected areas to enhance absorption.
• Dosage & Frequency:
  • Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily (1–2 times/day), or as directed by your physician.
• Duration of Treatment:
  • Maximum treatment duration is generally up to 4 weeks (some sources recommend 2 weeks initially). If no improvement is observed, consult your doctor. Do not use continuously beyond recommended period.
• Precautions:
  • Do not cover treated areas with bandages, wraps, or occlusive dressings unless prescribed—this increases absorption and risk of side effects.
  • Avoid use in facial, perioral, perianal, or genital regions, or on broken/infected skin or in conditions like acne and rosacea.
  • Do not exceed 50 /g per week.
  • If you miss a dose, apply as soon as possible, but do not double up—resume the regular schedule.
  • Discontinue use and seek medical advice if irritation, infection, or no response occurs within the expected treatment window.
