Content (Active Ingredient)
- Each capsule contains Gemfibrozil 300 /mg, a fibrate lipid regulating agent used to lower elevated triglycerides and LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol
Indications (What It’s Used For)
- Used as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle changes for:
- High cholesterol and triglycerides (hyperlipidemia), particularly when lifestyle modifications are inadequate
- Specifically prescribed in cases of Types IIb, IV, and V hyperlipoproteinemia to reduce the risk of pancreatitis and cardiovascular disease
Instructions for Use (Dosage & Administration)
- Dosage: Typically 600 /mg twice daily (2 capsules per dose) before meals, for a total of up to 1,200 /mg/day. Maximum recommended dose is 1,500 /mg/day.
- Administration: Take 30 minutes before breakfast and dinner on an empty stomach; do not chew or crush the capsule—swallow whole with water.
- Missed Dose: Take it as soon as remembered unless it's nearly time for your next dose. Do not double-dose
Lifestyle Advice: For best results, use with a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet and an exercise program
