Torpezil 5 /mg (active ingredient: Donepezil hydrochloride) is indicated for the treatment of:
Mild, moderate, and severe Alzheimer’s disease
Improves symptoms such as memory loss, confusion, and problems with thinking or behavior
Does not cure Alzheimer’s but may help slow the decline in mental function
It may also be used off-label (at a doctor's discretion) for:
Dementia in Parkinson’s disease
Vascular dementia (less commonly)
Dose:
Starting dose: 5 /mg once daily, usually at bedtime
Dose may be increased to 10 /mg daily after 4–6 weeks if tolerated
Route: Oral (by mouth)
Tablet: Swallow whole with water
Do not crush or chew
