About the Scholarship

Since 1975, Petronas has sponsored over 37,000 high-achieving students with leadership and a performance mindset. The Petronas Education Sponsorship Programme (PESP) aims to nurture future talent for the oil & gas industry and the nation. PESP is open to outstanding Malaysians who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in oil and gas-related fields, both locally and abroad.

Sponsorship Coverage

• Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (including 1-year Foundation Programme)
• Top Malaysian universities (including compulsory Matriculation/Foundation)
• Overseas universities (including up to 24 months of Pre-University in Malaysia)

Eligibility Criteria

• Malaysian citizen, aged 17-19
• Strong leadership and active participation in extracurricular activities
• Academic requirements:
  • Local universities (Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Law, Statistics): Minimum 8A- in SPM (including Mathematics)
  • Engineering/Science (Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, E&E Engineering, Geoscience, Mechanical Engineering): Minimum 8 subjects with 4A+ and 4A- (including Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics)
  • Overseas universities (Accounting, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Economics, Environmental Science, Law, Mathematics, Marketing & Trading, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics): Minimum 8 subjects with 4A+ and 4A- (including Mathematics)

Assessment Process

• First Phase (Online Test):
  • Cambridge Personal Style Questionnaire (CPSQ): Assesses personality and potential
  • Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA): Focuses on problem-solving and critical thinking
• Second Phase (Online Interview, for selected candidates):
  • Student Potential Assessment (SPA): Measures leadership and interpersonal skills

• PYD results will be announced on the official site; use your account to check status
• Incomplete or late applications will not be processed
