• The Financial Technology (Chinese-taught) undergraduate programme (4 years) is delivered in Chinese and covers political economy, macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, financial accounting, probability and mathematical statistics, finance, corporate finance, financial engineering, financial econometric analysis, investment management, financial risk management, programming fundamentals, data structures and algorithms, information security, database systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing and big data analytics, and blockchain technology and applications, building foundations in political economy and macroeconomics and microeconomics, econometrics and financial accounting and probability and mathematical statistics, finance and corporate finance and financial engineering, financial econometric analysis and investment management and financial risk management, programming fundamentals and data structures and algorithms and information security, database systems and artificial intelligence and machine learning and cloud computing and big data analytics and blockchain technology and applications through coursework and projects (aligned with “Core subjects” and the application process below; modules follow programme notices).

Career pathways (overview)

• Graduates may pursue roles in commercial banks and securities, fund and insurance institutions, fintech companies and internet finance platforms, corporate finance and investment departments, quantitative investment and risk management organisations, and blockchain and digital payment-related institutions, including political economy/macroeconomics/microeconomics application support, econometrics/financial accounting/probability and mathematical statistics technology support, finance/corporate finance/financial engineering coordination, and financial econometric analysis/investment management/financial risk management application support, subject to employers’ requirements and recruitment policies.
• They may also pursue further postgraduate study in finance, financial engineering, financial technology, applied economics, computer and data science, and related MA/PhD programmes, subject to admissions.
