What is the difference between this and the 24+1 DVI cable? The 18+1 (Single Link) cable is designed for standard HD resolutions (up to 1920x1200). If you have a 4K monitor or a high-refresh-rate gaming screen (144Hz+), you should use the 24+1 (Dual Link) version to handle the extra data.
Will this fit in my monitor's DVI port? Yes. An 18+1 DVI-D male connector will fit into any DVI-D (digital) or DVI-I (integrated) female port. However, it will not fit into a DVI-A (analog-only) port.
Why is there no sound on my monitor? Like all standard DVI cables, this model transmits video signals only. To get audio, you will need to connect separate speakers or a 3.5mm audio cable from your computer to the monitor's "Audio In" port.
