Build or repair high-performance video cables with our High-Density (H/D) 15-Way Computer Connectors. Widely known as the VGA or HD15 connector, these plugs feature three compact rows of five pins each. Whether you are custom-wiring a home theater projector, repairing a damaged monitor cable, or creating a specialized AV interface, these solder-type connectors provide the high-integrity signal path needed for sharp, interference-free video.
VGA Cable Repair: Fix broken pins or damaged heads on standard monitor and projector cables.
Custom AV Installations: Create exact-length video cables for boardroom projectors or digital signage.
KVM Switches: Ideal for building custom looms for server room KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse) setups.
High-Density Data: Use all 15 pins for compact, multi-channel signal transmission in industrial robotics.
High-Density 3-Row Layout: Standard HD15 (HDS15) configuration compatible with all VGA, SVGA, and UXGA video ports.
Precision Solder Cups: Features 15 gold-plated or nickel-plated solder buckets, allowing for a permanent and secure connection to multi-core coaxial cables.
Advanced Signal Shielding: The rugged steel shell provides excellent grounding and blocks RFI/EMI, preventing "ghosting" or "snow" on your display.
Corrosion-Resistant Contacts: High-conductivity pins ensure minimal signal loss, maintaining vibrant colors and sharp text on your screen.
Video Grade Performance: Specifically designed to handle the 75-ohm impedance requirements of high-frequency video signals.
Rugged Mechanical Build: Built to withstand frequent plugging and unplugging in professional AV and IT environments.
Universal Compatibility: Fits standard VGA/HD15 hoods and backshells for professional strain relief and protection.
Type: HD15 / HDS15 (High Density)
Pin Layout: 3 Rows (5 + 5 + 5 Pins)
Gender: Available in Male Plug (Pins) or Female Socket (Holes)
Attachment: Solder-Type
Is this the same as a Serial port?
No. A standard Serial (DB9) port has 9 pins in 2 rows. This HD15 connector has 15 pins in 3 rows. While the shell size is the same, the pin density is much higher.
Can I use this for high-definition 1080p?
Yes. While VGA is analog, high-quality HD15 connectors can support 1080p and higher resolutions, provided you use high-quality shielded coaxial cable.
Is soldering difficult for these?
Because the 15 pins are packed closely together, we recommend using a fine-tip soldering iron and thin solder wire. It requires a steady hand, but provides the best signal quality.
