Is this larger than a Parallel Port connector?
Yes. A Parallel port is 25-pin (DB25). The DB37 is physically wider to accommodate the additional 12 pins. Please ensure your device or cable hood is sized for 37 pins.
Can I use this for power transmission?
These are primarily signal connectors (typically rated for 3A–5A per pin). They are perfect for low-voltage control signals but should not be used for high-voltage mains power.
