Instructions for Use

  1. Pin Configuration:

    • Pin 1 (A0): Input A bit 0
    • Pin 2 (B0): Input B bit 0
    • Pin 3 (C0): Carry input
    • Pin 4 (S0): Sum output bit 0
    • Pin 5 (A1): Input A bit 1
    • Pin 6 (B1): Input B bit 1
    • Pin 7 (GND): Ground
    • Pin 9 (S1): Sum output bit 1
    • Pin 10 (A2): Input A bit 2
    • Pin 11 (B2): Input B bit 2
    • Pin 12 (S2): Sum output bit 2
    • Pin 13 (A3): Input A bit 3
    • Pin 14 (B3): Input B bit 3
    • Pin 15 (S3): Sum output bit 3
    • Pin 16 (VCC): Power supply
    • Pin 8 (C4): Carry output
  2. Power Supply:

    • Connect VCC to +5V and GND to 0V.
  3. Input Signals:

    • Apply binary inputs to A0, A1, A2, A3 and B0, B1, B2, B3.
    • Apply the carry input (C0) as needed.
  4. Output Signals:

    • The sum outputs (S0, S1, S2, S3) will provide the result of the addition.
    • The carry output (C4) indicates if there is a carry out from the most significant bit.
  5. Propagation Delay:

    • Ensure that the propagation delay time (tpd) is considered in the timing design of your circuit.
