Kitchen Story Sdn. Bhd. completed this custom carpentry project at Iconic Skies Residence, Relau, Bayan Lepas, Penang, focusing on practical storage, clean design detailing and a modern home interior concept. The project was planned to improve the functionality of the condominium unit while maintaining a neat, comfortable and visually organised living environment.
For this project, our work involved customised built-in cabinetry designed according to the actual site layout and the homeowner’s daily usage needs. Each cabinet was carefully planned to maximise storage capacity, improve space efficiency and create a clean overall look that suits modern condominium living in Penang.
The design direction uses a balanced combination of modern cabinet finishes, clean lines and practical layout planning. The result is a home interior that feels more organised, easy to maintain and suitable for long-term daily use.

The main challenge was to maximise storage within a condominium layout without making the space feel too heavy or crowded. Condominium units often require very accurate cabinet planning because every inch of space matters.
Another challenge was to maintain a clean and consistent design flow across different areas of the home. Kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, TV cabinets and storage units must not look disconnected from one another, especially in an open-plan condominium layout.
We designed the cabinetry based on the actual site condition and the homeowner’s lifestyle needs. Storage areas were planned to be practical, accessible and easy to maintain, while the cabinet finishes were selected to create a clean and modern visual effect.
Soft-closing fittings were used to improve daily comfort and durability. The use of DTC soft-closing door hinges and BLUM drawer systems helps the cabinets operate more smoothly and provides a better user experience for long-term use.
