Content (Composition)

• Active Ingredient: Each tablet contains 200 /mg acyclovir.
• Excipients: Includes sodium (0.44 /mg per tablet).
• Formulation: Dispersible film-coated tablet for oral administration.

• Herpes Simplex Infections: Treatment of initial and recurrent genital herpes (excluding neonatal HSV and severe HSV infections in immunocompromised children).
• Suppression of Recurrent Herpes Simplex Infections: Prevention of recurrences in immunocompetent patients.
• Prophylaxis of Herpes Simplex Infections: In immunocompromised patients.
• Varicella (Chickenpox) and Herpes Zoster (Shingles): Treatment of infections.

• Dosage:
  • Adults:
    • Herpes Simplex Infections: 200 /mg (1 tablet) five times daily at approximately 4-hour intervals for 5 days. In severe cases, the dose may be doubled.
    • Suppression of Recurrent Infections: 200 /mg (1 tablet) four times daily at approximately 6-hour intervals.
    • Herpes Zoster (Shingles): 800 /mg (4 tablets) five times daily for 7 days.
    • Varicella (Chickenpox):
      • 6 years and over: 800 /mg (4 tablets) four times daily.
      • 2 to 5 years: 400 /mg (2 tablets) four times daily.
      • Under 2 years: 200 /mg (1 tablet) four times daily.
  • Administration:
    • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
    • May be taken with or without food.
    • For patients unable to swallow tablets, the tablet may be dispersed in a minimum of 50 /ml of water.
  • Hydration:
    • Ensure adequate hydration, especially in patients receiving high doses.
  • Storage:
    • Store at room temperature, below 25°C.
    • Keep the bottle tightly closed.
    • Protect from light and moisture.
