Content

• Active Ingredient: Each tablet contains 500 mg of clarithromycin, an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections.
• Excipients: Includes lactose (115 mg per tablet) and other inactive ingredients.

• Infections Treated:
  • Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia).
  • Upper respiratory tract infections (e.g., sinusitis, pharyngitis).
  • Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., folliculitis, cellulitis, erysipelas).
  • Eradication of Helicobacter pylori in duodenal ulcers.

• Dosage:
  • Adults and children ≥12 years:
    • Take 1 tablet (500 mg) once daily with food.
    • For more severe infections, the dosage may be increased to 2 tablets (1000 mg) once daily.
    • The usual duration of therapy is 5 to 14 days, excluding treatment of community-acquired pneumonia and sinusitis, which require 6 to 14 days of therapy.
  • Renal Impairment:
    • In patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 30 mL/min), the usual recommended dose is 250 mg once daily.
    • In more severe infections, the recommended dose is one 500 mg modified-release tablet once daily.
    • No dose adjustment is required for patients with moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 30 to 60 mL/min).
• Administration:
  • Take the tablet whole; do not crush or chew.
  • It can be taken with or without food.
