High-Performance Traction Gas Springs for Retraction and Tensioning
The Pullstrut Series (also known as traction gas springs) operates with a unique "reverse" logic compared to standard compression springs. Instead of pushing outward, these springs are designed to retract. In its unloaded state, the piston remains inside the cylinder; when pulled out, the internal force works to pull the rod back in. This makes the Pullstrut series the ideal choice for tensioning applications, specialized doors, and machinery where space or design constraints require a pulling force.
| Technical Highlights | |
|---|---|
| Product Series | Pullstrut Series (Tension / Traction Gas Springs) |
| Operating Principle | Retraction force (Rod pulls into the cylinder). |
| Standard Finish | Black painted tube with Nitrider anti-corrosive rod treatment. |
| Premium Option | Available in Stainless Steel (SAI316L) for extreme environments. |
| Customization | Force ratings and dimensions tailored to specific engineering requirements. |
The **Liftstrut** pushes the rod out to open a lid. The **Pullstrut** pulls the rod in. They are essentially opposites in force direction.
If your application is outdoors, near the coast, or in a facility that requires frequent chemical cleaning (like food processing), the stainless steel option is highly recommended to prevent rust.
