The Flash and Fire Point Test is an important safety evaluation that determines the temperatures at which bitumen vapors ignite (flash point) and maintain combustion (fire point). The test, carried out in accordance with ASTM D92 (Cleveland Open Cup technique) or ASTM D93 (Pensky-Martens Closed Cup method), verifies that heating operations are safe and within the limits required to avoid fire dangers.
