During a routine inspection at the B2 Level of the Holiday Inn Express, our team identified significant wear and tear on a Euroklimat Single Skin Air Handling Unit (Model: EKSW080HR). The unit's drive system—including the pulleys, shafts, and motor—showed signs of corrosion and mechanical fatigue, which threatened to lead to a total system failure and loss of cooling for the building's zones.
EKG’s technicians performed a deep-dive restoration to bring the high-capacity unit (rated for 8000m³/h air flow) back to optimal status:
Drive System Overhaul: We inspected and serviced the fan shaft and pulley assembly. Worn components were treated or replaced to ensure smooth power transmission from the motor to the blower.
Motor Inspection: The 3kW / 415V power supply motor underwent a full electrical and physical audit. We cleared debris and verified the integrity of the flexible conduits and electrical housing to prevent short circuits.
Corrosion Control: Given the unit's age (manufactured circa 2015), our team focused on cleaning and stabilizing rusted surfaces within the fan housing to extend the operational lifespan of the "Single Skin" chassis.
Precision Alignment: After component replacement, we performed precision alignment of the belt-drive system to reduce vibration and prevent premature wear on the new hardware.
