A major fire broke out tonight at a J&T Express warehouse in Bandar Puteri Puchong, causing severe damage to the facility and affecting a large number of parcels and cargo. Approximately 40% of the warehouse was reportedly destroyed by the fire. Fortunately,
no injuries have been reported so far.
According to the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, emergency responders received the distress call at approximately 8:06 PM and immediately dispatched 19 firefighters along with 2 fire engines to the scene. The fire was successfully brought under control
within about 42 minutes.
For those in the logistics industry, this is one of the most feared situations.
A warehouse does not only store ''boxes'' — it contains customers’ purchases, business inventory, personal belongings, and goods people have been waiting for.
This incident also serves as an important reminder:
⚠️ High-value cargo and commercial shipments should always be insured.
Without insurance coverage, compensation for losses caused by fire, floods, or unforeseen incidents may be very limited and subject only to standard shipping liability terms.
⚠️ Please allow J&T time to investigate and verify parcel statuses.
After incidents like this, staff will need time to assess the situation, inspect the warehouse, and update shipment records. Repeated calls to customer service may slow down the overall handling process.
⚠️ Never conceal flammable, explosive, or dangerous goods in shipments.
One undeclared dangerous item can potentially affect an entire warehouse, damage other customers’ cargo, and even endanger workers’ safety.
At the end of the day, everyone in logistics hopes for the same thing:
That every parcel arrives safely to its destination.
