Kuala Lumpur | March 30, 2026 — They say a shoemaker's children often go barefoot, and at EKG M&E Sdn Bhd, we recently learned that even HVAC experts aren't immune to a heatwave! This week, the "patient" on the operating table wasn't a client's high-rise—it was our very own office cooling system.
Scope of Work: Nitrogen Pressure Testing, Leak Rectification, and Compressor System Reset
It started with a suspicious lack of breeze and a very quiet outdoor unit. Our team noticed the office temperature climbing, and a quick inspection revealed the culprit: our AC was blowing nothing but lukewarm air. While a "broken AC" sounds simple, the internal diagnostics revealed a chain reaction—a classic refrigerant gas leak had led to a compressor overheat, triggering a total system shutdown to prevent a permanent burnout.
Since we have the best technicians in the business just down the hall, we jumped into "Emergency Response Mode" for ourselves:
Advanced Leak Detection: We didn't just top up the gas (which is a temporary fix). Our team performed a thorough nitrogen pressure test to locate the microscopic puncture in the copper piping that was letting the coolant escape.
Precision Pipe Welding: Once the leak was identified, our guys performed a clean braze repair to seal the copper line, ensuring the system was hermetically sealed once again.
Compressor Health Check: Because the compressor had overheated due to low pressure, we had to perform a controlled cooldown and electrical safety check. We verified that the thermal overload protector did its job, saving us from a very expensive replacement!
Vacuum & Recharge: We evacuated the air and moisture from the lines using a vacuum pump before recharging the system with the precise weight of refrigerant required for peak efficiency.
The "Human" Element: We’re not immune to the problems we provide solutions for! It was a great reminder of how frustrating a hot office can be, which only fuels our drive to fix our clients' systems even faster.
Prevention over Cure: A small leak caused a major overheat. This is exactly why we always tell our clients that "a small hiss leads to a big miss" if left ignored.
Team Morale (and Cooling): We are happy to report that the EKG office is officially back to a crisp 23°C. The only thing "overheating" now is our coffee machine!
Based in Kuala Lumpur, we are MEP specialists who live and breathe technical excellence—sometimes literally. From the classrooms of MCKL to our own headquarters, we treat every AC repair with the same engineering rigor.
Is your office starting to feel like a sauna? Don't wait for your compressor to give up the ghost.
